Treatt plc (the 'Company'), the manufacturer and supplier of flavour and
fragrance ingredients, is pleased to announce that Richard Hope (age 36) has
been appointed as Group Finance Director and Company Secretary and will be
joining the Company no later than 1st June 2003.

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 with PriceWaterhouseCoopers,
Richard Hope has been Head of Finance at Hampshire Cosmetics Limited and Finance
Director of the Marketing Services Division of The Richbell Group.

Hugo Bovill, Managing Director said :

'We welcome Richard as a key member of the management team and we are confident
that his wide experience will enable him to make a major contribution to the
business.'

The Company can advise that there are no further details relating to the
appointment of Richard Hope which it is obliged to disclose under paragraph
6.F.2 (b-g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
