Tribal Group announces a contract win and a contract renewal
Tribal Group, the professional support services group, announced today that it
has been awarded a three-year contract to provide strategic management services
to Swindon Local Education Authority. This contract, which commences this
month, will involve Tribal Group assuming responsibility for the management of
the education department and in particular for working with schools to improve
the quality of education across the borough. The award of the contract has been
supported by Stephen Timms, the Minister of State for School Standards.
Tribal Group also confirm the renewal of its contract with UfI, the organisation
bringing about the Government's concept of a university for industry, to provide
IT development and technical support of the learndirect system. learndirect
can be accessed via a network of 1,600 learndirect centres in England, Wales and
Northern Ireland, and through e-learning facilities based in the workplace.
Tribal Group is part of the consortium that has successfully delivered the
learndirect system since launch in May 2000.
Henry Pitman, Chief Executive of Tribal Group commented, 'I am delighted that
Tribal Group has won these two high profile contracts. The contract in Swindon
is a new model for LEA Strategic Partnership and will, we expect, lead to
significant improvement in the standards of education in the borough, and as a
reference site will help the Group to secure other similar contracts. The
learndirect contract is further demonstration of our strong partnership with UfI
and our ability to deliver a complex e-learning product for the mass market.'
