Tribal Group announces new senior appointment
MIKE COPE JOINS FROM UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON AS CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Tribal (AIM: TRB), a leading provider of software and services to the international education market, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Cope as Chief Technology Officer, with effect from 16th September 2019.
Mike, formerly Chief Information Officer at University College London (UCL), already has nine years' experience working with Tribal's software and services at the University. During his time at UCL, Mike was instrumental in delivering a major change programme to support the strategy. He developed a digital masterplan which transformed the IT organisation. He is also an experienced Board level leader, with success in leading operational businesses during periods of growth.
Prior to this, Mike has been Chief Information Officer at Virgin Airways and Chief Technology Officer at British Airways. In both these roles, Mike undertook significant strategic change programmes within the IT category, creating an improved customer product rating while reducing IT operation costs and the number of IT incidents and problems.
Mike, who also joins the Executive Board, will be responsible for delivering the new Tribal Edge cloud technology to customers in addition to helping develop Tribal information technology further.
Mike was granted 300,000 options ("Options") over ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on 16th September 2019. The Options, representing approximately 0.002% of the Company's issued shares, were granted under the terms of the Company's 2010 Long Term Incentive Plan. All of the Options are exercisable at 61.5p per Ordinary Share and may not be exercised before 16th September 2022.
Mark Pickett, Chief Executive Officer of Tribal, commented:
"I am delighted that Mike is joining us at Tribal Group. Mike's knowledge of working with our digital software will be particularly relevant in understanding what customers need from our software and services. He brings with him a wealth of experience which will be invaluable as we drive adoption of the Tribal Edge modules."
Mike Cope commented:
"I am excited to be joining Tribal Group. It has a great customer offer and an established unique market position and client base. I look forward to working with Tribal to develop the Group's technology as it continues to grow."
