Tribal appointed as preferred bidder for Ofsted contract
Tribal Group plc, a leading provider of consultancy, support and delivery services to the public sector, is pleased to announce that it has been appointed preferred bidder by the UK Government's care and education inspector and regulator, Ofsted, for the inspection contract for the South region. The six-year contract has a contract value of approximately £75m and inspections under the contract will start on 1 September 2009.
Commenting on this news, Peter Martin, Tribal's chief executive, said:
'As an existing Ofsted inspection provider with an excellent track record, we are naturally delighted with this news. Tribal's order book and pipeline of contract opportunities remain strong. We entered the new financial year with nearly 40% of 2009 planned revenue already committed and with a strong sales pipeline. The Group is well-positioned to make further progress in 2009.'
Tribal currently provides schools inspection services to Ofsted in the south-west and the west midlands under two contracts awarded in 2005, which end on 31 August 2009.
Tribal will make a further announcement when the final contract negotiations have been completed.
