Main Board Executive Director appointments
broadens the skills base
To assist in the in the next phase of growth across our global operations and to ensure continuity and implementation of consistent policies across the Group, Trifast announces the following Executive Board appointments which take effect today (16 June 2010):-
· Mark Belton appointed Group Finance Director
· Seamus Murphy, Director of Operations, HR and IT
· Glenda Roberts, Group Sales Director
· Mark Belton, Group Finance Director & Company Secretary
Mark (aged 40) joined Trifast in 1999 having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1994. He was appointed Group Accountant in 2000 and Group Financial Controller and Company Secretary in 2004 and joined the TR operating Board in 2006. After the departure of the FD, Stuart Lawson in January 2009, Mark reporting directly to the new CEO was charged with managing all aspects of finance reporting including the refinancing with the Bank.
Over the last eighteen months, under the stewardship of Mark, the TR Finance team has supported the TR operations and produced the financial statements for the last two years. Over this period, Mark has shown his skills and developed a strong persona which has earned the respect of the TR team.
· Seamus Murphy, Director of Operations, HR and IT
Seamus (aged 50) is a qualified accountant with extensive commercial experience gained over 20 years in multisite distribution; he has developed and managed operational functions in several key areas such as, Finance, Purchasing, Quality and IT.
Prior to TR, Seamus spent seven years with British Steel Distribution before joining Serco Ryan as Finance Director a position he held for 10 of his 14 years with that business until it was acquired by Trifast in 2005. Since then, he has been European Purchasing & IT Director within TR Fastenings and played a role firstly in integrating the Serco finance function and business and more recently, developing a central purchasing resource and stock reduction programme.
Seamus will be responsible for the on-going development and strategic direction of TR's European and US business with the objective of maximising operational efficiencies across the network. His strong understanding of the need for quality management information which will assist TR making effective commercial business decisions thereby ensuring it remains competitive, efficient and profitable.
· Glenda Roberts, Group Sales Director
Glenda (aged 60), having spent a number of years in a similar role within the industry joined Trifast in 1990 as Sales Director within the manufacturing operation before moving on to take up roles of Sales Director within TR Fastenings and TR's Europe's Industrial division's between 1997-2001 before being promoted in 2001 to Strategic Business Director/Sales within the principal trading subsidiary TR Fastenings Ltd.
Glenda has over 30 years experience at a Senior level within the industrial fastenings sector and her extensive knowledge, global network, ambition and motivational drive to fulfilment of our global sales objectives. Her skills and will assist the TR teams to develop sales planning and the development of account management programmes in particular for key customer relationships and multinationals.
Glenda was asked to reform the TR Global sales team last March 2009 (having been disbanded in 2007). Over the last year, Glenda has formulated the strategic goals for this key business driver identifying key sectors and multinationals which TR can support in their logistics and supply chain locally and globally; already, the teams plans formulated are opening up and securing new opportunities and Trifast expect to see a key contribution from this area in the future.
There are no additional disclosures to be made under LR9.6.13 for any of the Executive Director appointments.
Commenting today on the appointments, Malcolm Diamond, Trifast Chairman said:
