Next Generation Sensing Technology Achieves Milestone for TT electronics
TT electronics is pleased to announce that it has won substantial new orders
from the automotive industry for its inductive 'Autopad' sensors, taking total
orders gained to date for this new technology to over £100 million over the life
of the programmes.
TT electronics' patented Autopad technology has been developed at the group's
centre of sensor design and technology excellence in Cambridge. The range of
sensors, incorporating leading edge, inductive technology, has been well
received by the group's key automotive customers. Autopad technology has enabled
TT electronics to win its first new business from German automakers for steering
sensors, as well as orders for pedal, chassis, and throttle applications on a
range of European vehicles.
We believe that there will be a progressive increase in the use of inductive
technology due to the cost and manufacturing efficiencies it offers. New orders
for Autopad technology gained through the group's German sensor businesses
confirm our confidence in this new technology.
TT electronics is confident that its early entry into this pioneering area, toge
ther with the progress made to date in establishing Autopad technology with key
customers, positions the group well to benefit from increasing demand for
products utilising inductive sensors.
Commenting upon the success of Autopad, John Newman said:-
'We are delighted with our success in winning so many new programmes for our new
Autopad technology. The automotive market is becoming increasingly demanding and
continued success is dependent upon driving new technologies to meet the
expanding range of our customers' needs.'
