                            Further re : Appointment

Further to the announcement made on 13 September, 2004 concerning the
appointment effective that date of Adrian Nel as an executive director, Tullow
Oil plc (the 'Company') would like to make the following regulatory disclosures:

  • Other than his directorship of Energy Africa Limited, Mr Nel has not held
    a directorship in any other public listed company during the past five
    years.

        -     On appointment, Mr Nel's interests in the ordinary shares of the
        Company were represented by options over 205,000 ordinary shares granted
        to him on 28 May 2004 under the terms of the Tullow Oil plc 2000
        Executive Share Option Scheme.

        -     The Company confirms that there are no items requiring disclosure
        under paragraphs (b) to (g) of Rule 6.F.2 of The Listing Rules in
        relation to Mr Nel.
