The following announcement replaces a 'Schedule 10, Notification Of Major
Interests In Shares' that was issued by Tullow Oil plc (the 'Company') on 13 May
2004 at 12.52 RNS No.6416Y following an incorrect notification of interest
received from Legal & General Group plc on 12 May 2004. In Section 12 of the
previously issued notification, their cumulative holdings was incorrectly listed
at 18,912,492 ordinary shares of 10p each representing 5% of the Company's
issued share capital.

On 14 May 2004 the Company received a corrected notification of interest from
Legal & General Group plc which states that their cumulative holdings is
12,206,492 ordinary shares of 10p each, representing 3.23% of the Company's
issued share capital. Legal & General Group plc's' integer interest in the share
capital of the Company has therefore not changed
