In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6, 
Tullow Oil plc notifies the market of the following:

As at 20 January 2007, Tullow Oil plc's issued share capital consists of
717,085,752 ordinary shares (with a nominal value of 10p each) with voting
rights. Tullow Oil plc does not hold any ordinary shares in treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Tullow Oil plc is 717,085,752.

This figure of 717,085,752 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for
the calculation by which they will determine whether they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Tullow Oil plc under the
FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
