Sarantel's LBS Pro GPS antenna meets demanding performance needs of IsatPhone Pro

Sarantel Group PLC, (AIM: SLG, 'Sarantel'), a leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, announces the receipt of production orders for its LBS Pro GPS antenna to be used in Inmarsat's forthcoming IsatPhone Pro handset.

IsatPhone Pro, Inmarsat's first global handheld satellite phone, is being launched later in June and will offer reliable global coverage, the longest battery life on the market, the most robust handset available, clear voice quality and ease of use - all at a highly competitive price for its market.

Targeted primarily at professional users in the government, media, aid, oil and gas, mining and construction sectors, IsatPhone Pro enables satellite telephony, with Bluetooth for hands-free use, voicemail, text and email messaging. GPS location data will also be available to the user to look up or send in a text message.

Helen Stalker, Commercial Director for Global Satellite Phone Services at Inmarsat, said:

"Sarantel's LBS Pro antenna gave us significant GPS advantages in a small package, which made it an ideal choice for the IsatPhone Pro."

David Wither, CEO of Sarantel said:

"We are delighted that Inmarsat chose our LBS Pro GPS antenna to meet the demanding performance requirements of their first handheld satellite phone product."
