In accordance with Listing Rule 15.9, Electra announces that on 11 December 
2003 it purchased for cancellation 50,000 Ordinary Shares of 25p each at an 
average price of 642.4406p per Ordinary Share.

Following this transaction Electra has 65,171,533 Ordinary Shares of 25p in 
issue.
