                  Unilever Plans Sale of Two Oil Refineries

Unilever announced today that its Unilever Bestfoods Europe business intends
to sell its edible oil refineries in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands and in
Brake, Germany. The businesses together employ some 300 people and have
external sales of Euro170 million.

The significant level of non-Unilever business, built up over the years, means
that the refineries have become self-standing businesses.

The sale of the refineries either together or individually will be considered.
