Unilever prices a $ 1,5 bn bond in the US market
On 9 February 2009 Unilever priced a double-tranche $ 1,5 billion (ca. €1,150 billion) bond in the US market: $ 750 million as a five-year bond at a coupon of 3.65% and $ 750 m as a ten year bond at a coupon of 4.80%. The anticipated closing date of the offering is 12 February 2009.
This is the first time Unilever has issued bonds in the US market since 2002. The net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
Unilever is currently rated A1 by Moody's and A+ by Standard & Poor's.
