                      The Unite Group plc ('the Company')

Application has been made to the Financial Services Authority and the London
Stock Exchange plc for 2,258 ordinary shares of 25p each ('shares') to be
admitted to the Official List.

It is expected admission will be granted on 3 February 2005 and trading will
commence on 4 February 2005.

These shares are being issued as a result of the exercise of share options under
The UNITE Group plc Savings Related Share Option Scheme.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing issued ordinary shares.
