DEALING BY DIRECTOR



On 5 October 2007, the Company was informed by Mr Geoffrey Maddrell (Chairman of
The UNITE Group plc), of the acquisition through his self-investing pension
scheme on 5 October 2007 of 15,000 shares of 25p each in the capital of the
Company (representing 0.012% of its current issued share capital), at a price of
390.75p per share.



Following the above referred to acquisition, Mr Maddrell is interested in
262,541 shares in the Company, representing 0.21% of the current issued share
capital. That interest represents12,250 shares held by Winifred Maddrell (Mr
Maddrell's wife); 80,000 shares held by Mr Maddrell's self-investing pension
scheme; and 170,291 shares held by the trustees of The Geoffrey Maddrel Jersey
Trust (the beneficiaries of which include Mr Maddrell, his wife and his three
children).
