                FORMATION OF UNITE UK STUDENT ACCOMMODATION FUND





On 15 November 2006 The UNITE Group plc ('UNITE') gave notice to its
shareholders of an Extraordinary General Meeting convened for 4 December 2006 to
approve the formation of, and contribution of properties to, the UNITE UK
Student Accommodation Fund, a new open-ended property fund focussed on owning
and acquiring UK direct-let student accommodation (the 'Proposed Transaction').



UNITE is pleased to announce that the resolution approving the Proposed
Transaction was duly passed today by UNITE's shareholders at the Extraordinary
General Meeting.
