The Unite Group plc ('the Company')

Following the acquisition by the Company of the 50% stake in Peabody Unite which
it did not already own from its joint venture partner Peabody Trust, the Company
announces that Peabody Trust is interested in 6,783,945 ordinary shares which
represents 9.07% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
