UNITED OVERSEAS GROUP PLC: Board Appointment
-President of US Subsidiary to join Main Board
and
Appointment of new Software Buyer
United Overseas Group plc ('UOG' or 'the Company'), the world-wide distributor
of branded consumer goods, is pleased to announce that Mr. Bruce Salkin has
been appointed to the Board of the Company with immediate effect.
Bruce, aged 50, is currently President of Unitrade Marketing Group Inc., the
Group's United States operating subsidiary, based in New Jersey, which he co-
founded in 1988. He has over 20 years industry-wide experience of the toy,
housewares and excess inventories businesses, having worked previously for a
number of companies including the New York quoted Greenman Bros. Inc. as
General Merchandise manager of the toy wholesale division.
Mr. Michael Corke, UOG Chief Executive commented:
'The appointment of Bruce to the main Board is a reflection of the
significantly improved performance and growth potential of our US operations.
He has a great deal of experience within our key markets and we believe that
his appointment will further strengthen our Board.'
UOG also announces the appointment of Mr. Peter Dellow, aged 38, as Software
Buyer for United Overseas Limited, the Group's principal UK operating
subsidiary. Peter has nearly 20 years experience of the video games industry,
including 15 years at Prism Leisure Corporation Plc. He joins UOG from Planet
Distribution where he was Software Buyer, and will be responsible for the
further development of UOG's growing computer and console games business.
