University of Leeds: Appointment of new Vice-Chancellor & President
Professor Shearer West CBE has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor & President of the University of Leeds, taking up the role from 1 November 2024.
Professor West is currently President & Vice-Chancellor at the University of Nottingham, a role she has held since 2017, where she introduced the University's values-led strategy to deliver improvements in its research, teaching, operations and staff and student engagement.

The current Interim Vice-Chancellor & President Professor Hai-Sui Yu will continue in role until 31 October 2024, when he will revert to his substantive role as Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Provost having then led the University for a year.
