Awarding of Contract
UniVision (AIM: UVEL), the Hong Kong based group whose principal activities are the supply, design, installation and maintenance of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and surveillance systems, and the sale of security related products, announces that it has been awarded a contract for the supply of a Video Analytic Monitoring System at Tai Tam Gap Correctional Institution ("the Correctional Institution") in Hong Kong.
This represents one of the first few contracts win from the Hong Kong Government since we announced that the temporary tendering suspension had been lifted in May 2019. The contract value is approximately HK$2.55m and commences immediately.
The system is designed to automatically identify abnormal behaviour in the Correctional Institution and incorporates technology such as facial recognition.
Stephen Koo, Chairman commented:
"We are delighted to have been awarded this contract which aims to improve both efficiency and safety of everyone in the facility. We also anticipate that, if successful, there may be further demand for this type of intelligent video surveillance system in other similar facilities and beyond. As we have announced previously, we look forward to reporting our final results in August."
