Re Directorate

Cube8 Group PLC 20 July 2001 Press release Cube8 CEO becomes non-executive director Brian Hindson has resigned as chief executive of The Cube8 Group, but will remain as a non-executive director. His position will be taken over by Tim Dean-Smith, who shall also remain as chairman of the company. Mr Hindson joined Cube8 from the British Red Cross, where he was deputy chief executive. He has extensive experience in large organisations and specialises in strategy, business planning and change management. After recent cost cutting, Cube8 now employs fewer than 15 full time people, and Mr Hindson felt that the company could no longer justify keeping him. 'As I said in the Annual Report, we have had to respond to the market conditions by watching our costs and controlling the operational outgoings. In my time here I have managed to get our net monthly burn down from over £ 200,000 to the current forecast of £41,000. 'The companies in our portfolio need time to mature, so I have actively been working to cut costs to prolong the life of the business. As a result, it became clear to me that my skills were no longer suited to Cube8's needs, and that my salary was contributing significantly to the company's outgoings.' Stephen Masters, co-founder of the company, is to become chief operating officer with immediate effect, handling internal operations while Mr Dean-Smith continues to work with the portfolio companies. Tim Dean-Smith said, 'This was a hard decision for Brian to make. He has done a great job during his time with Cube8, and he will make an excellent non-executive director. We will miss his day to day input, and wish him all the best in finding his next position.'
