Confirmation of Board Changes



At the annual general meeting of Provident Financial plc held at 12 noon
today, Chris Johnstone and David Swann were appointed executive directors of
the company. Chris Johnstone is managing director of the UK home credit
division and David Swann is managing director of the international home credit
division.

There is no other information to be disclosed in relation to either Chris
Johnstone or David Swann pursuant to paragraphs 6.F.2(b) to (g) and paragraph
16.4(a) of the Listing Rules.

In accordance with his intention, as previously announced, Peter Bretherton,
Director of Corporate Affairs, retired from the board today.
