Provident Financial PLC 25 January 2006 BOARD CHANGES AT PROVIDENT FINANCIAL Provident Financial plc today announces changes to its Board of Directors to take effect following its annual general meeting on 17 May 2006. Andrew Fisher, 47, is to be appointed Finance Director, joining from Premier Farnell plc, where he has been Finance Director for 11 years. He succeeds John Harnett, 50, who is to take up new responsibilities as Managing Director of the expanding International Division which now has over 1.6 million customers. John Harnett will continue to have responsibility for Vanquis Bank and public affairs. David Swann, currently Managing Director of International Division, will be retiring at the AGM, a few months before his 60th birthday, after 33 years' service. He led the team which developed the international business from 1997, building it from nothing to full operations in four central European countries. The business is now also in Mexico and piloting operations in Romania. John van Kuffeler, chairman of the Board commented: 'We are delighted to welcome someone of Andrew Fisher's calibre and experience to the Board and equally delighted that we have such a capable professional as John Harnett to lead and develop further the highly successful international division. David Swann retires with the gratitude and thanks of the Board having worked tirelessly and effectively to build a strong home credit business outside the UK.'
