                            Resignation of Chairman




African Consolidated Resources plc ('the Company') announces that Peter
Vanderspuy has resigned as Non-Executive Chairman and Director of the Company
due to family reasons as he has not been able to devote the time to the Company
which he had hoped to give. To the extent that he has time available, he remains
fully committed to assist the Company in its mineral exploration and evaluation
in Zimbabwe as an independent consultant.

The Board is in the process of interviewing potential candidates for a new
Non-Executive Chairman.
