Velocys plc (VLS.L), the AIM-listed technology innovator for smaller scale gas-to-liquids (GTL), is pleased to announce the opening of its office in Houston, Texas, USA.
Houston will become Velocys' commercial and engineering centre. CEO, Roy Lipski, has relocated to Houston to lead the initiative to integrate Velocys with the global oil & gas industry, as the commercialisation of the Company's technology continues.
Velocys' new office is located at 2603 Augusta, Suite 1175, Houston, Texas 77057, USA. The office phone number is +1 713 275 5840.
Velocys is actively recruiting process engineers, business development and marketing staff to be based in Houston. The development of the process engineering team at a location closer to some of the Company's engineering partners and customers will support and further accelerate the engineering work required to sell and deliver plants using Velocys' technology.
Velocys' underlying catalyst and reactor technologies will continue to be led and supported from the Company's sites near Oxford, UK and Columbus, Ohio, USA respectively.
Roy Lipski, CEO of Velocys, said:
"I am delighted to be personally leading this initiative to accelerate the commercial roll out of Velocys technology and to reinforce our position as the leader in smaller scale GTL. Houston is the hub of the global oil and gas industry. Having a base here will allow us to increase the depth and breadth of our interactions with customers and partners, and will be pivotal in further growing our opportunities pipeline."

Notes to editors
Velocys (formerly Oxford Catalysts) enables modular gas-to-liquids (GTL) plants to convert unconventional, remote and problem gas into valuable liquid fuels. Systems based on the Company's technology are significantly smaller than those using conventional technology, enabling modular plants that can be deployed cost effectively in remote locations and on smaller fields than is possible with competing systems. Together with world-class partners, Velocys provides complete modular GTL solutions that address an untapped market of up to 25 million barrels of fuel a day
Velocys plc is listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE: VLS). The Company has some 90 employees with facilities in Houston, Texas, USA and near Oxford, UK and Columbus, Ohio, USA.
