Appointment of New Head of US Operations

Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is pleased to announce that Brian Berney has been appointed as President North American Operations at Versarien Graphene Inc ("VGI") with effect from 1 July 2019.

Mr Berney is a British born and educated engineer, who has worked in the US for the past 39 years.  Previously he was President and CEO of Dynavolt Technologies Inc, the US division of Chinese company Guangdong Dynavolt Renewable Energy Technology Co., Ltd ("Dynavolt"), a position he has held for the last three years.  Dynavolt is a leading speciality battery manufacturer.

Prior to joining Dynavolt, Mr. Berney held a variety of senior engineering, sales and marketing and management positions in the automotive and aerospace technology sector, including with Mahle, Dover Corporation and Lacy Diversified Industries.

Mr Berney will lead Versarien's activities in North America and will report to Neill Ricketts, CEO.  Mr Berney is not considered by the Company to be a person discharging managerial responsibilities as set out in Article 3(1)(25) of the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR).

 

Patrick Abbott, Vice President North American Operations, has left his employment at VGI with immediate effect in order to concentrate on his upcoming court case.

 

The Company will provide a further update on developments at VGI as part of its preliminary results for the financial year ended 31 March 2019.
