Cookson Group PLC 02 February 2007 COMPLETION OF MONOFRAX SALE FOR US$45 MILLION Further to its press release of 19 December 2006, Cookson Group plc ('Cookson'), a leading materials science company, confirms that on 1 February 2007 it completed the sale of the business and assets of Monofrax Inc. ('Monofrax'). Monofrax, a US-based fused cast refractories business which formed a separate part of the Ceramics division, was sold to RHI AG ('RHI') for US$45m (£23 million*). The purchase price was satisfied by an assumption by RHI of pension, retirement medical and other liabilities of US$10 million (£5 million*) with the balance satisfied by cash of US$35 million (£18 million*).
