Press Release 20 November 2007
Brulines (Holdings) plc
('Brulines' or 'the Group')
Merger Clearance
Brulines (Holdings) plc (AIM:BRU), the leading provider of draught alcoholic
drinks volume, quality and profit protection systems for the UK licensed
on-trade, welcomes the announcement issued today by the Office of Fair Trading
('OFT') confirming that it has decided, on the information available to it, not
to refer the Group's proposed merger of Nucleus Data Holdings Limited
('Nucleus') to the Competition Commission under the provisions of the Enterprise
Act 2002.
James Dickson, Chief Executive of Brulines, comments: 'We are pleased that,
following their review of the facts and consultation with our customers, the OFT
has decided not to refer our merger with Nucleus to the Competition Commission.
This validates our long-held belief that the combined Group will be even
better placed to help our customers in the licensed on-trade to deliver improved
quality, a better customer experience and increased operational productivity.'
The Group will provide further details of the acquisition on Tuesday, 11
December, during the announcement of its Interim Results for the six months
ended 30 September 2007.
