The Company has today received notification that on 27 March 2002, the Trustees
of the Victoria Carpets Profit Sharing Scheme ('the Scheme') sold 4,684 ordinary
shares of 25p each in the Company at 124p per share, representing approximately
0.07% of the Company's issued ordinary shares.

Following the sale, the Trustees hold on behalf of the Scheme 379,416 ordinary
shares of 25p each in the Company, representing approximately 5.46% of the
Company's issued ordinary shares.

As trustees of the Scheme, the following Directors' non-beneficial shareholdings
have each been reduced by 4,684 ordinary shares and are now as follows:
