                                 AGM Statement


At the Annual General Meeting of Victrex plc to be held today, Chairman Peter
Warry will make the following statement:

'Overall sales volume for the year to date continues in line with our
expectations and we have maintained strong volume growth since the financial
year end in Asia-Pacific.'

The Company's interim trading update for the six months to 31 March 2004 will be
issued on Tuesday 6 April 2004.
