                               BOARD APPOINTMENT


Victrex plc announces the appointment of Charles Irving-Swift as a non-executive
Director of the company.

Charles Irving-Swift (aged 47) is the Managing Director of Glacier Vandervell
Bearings, where he is responsible for its parent company, Dana Corporation's,
global automotive bearings business.  He has over twenty four years experience
in the automotive components industry.  Previous roles have included Managing
Director of T&N plc's European automotive bearings business and Dana
Corporation's Director of Corporate Planning.

There are no matters to be disclosed in accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the
Listing Rules of the UKLA.
