BOARD APPOINTMENTS
The Board of Victrex plc is pleased to announce the appointments of Patrick De Smedt and Lawrence Pentz as non-executive directors of the Company with effect from 28 July 2008.
Patrick De Smedt, aged 53, was, until recently, Chairman of Microsoft Europe, Middle East & Africa. He joined Microsoft in 1983 as one of its pioneers in Europe. When Patrick left Microsoft at the end of 2006, the EMEA region generated revenues of $12 billion with a headcount of 12,000 employees. Patrick currently serves on the boards of a number of European companies.
Lawrence Pentz, aged 53, has been a main board director of Johnson Matthey plc since 2003. He is currently Executive Director, responsible for their Emission Control Technologies business. Prior to this Lawrence was Executive Director, Process Catalyst and Technologies.

No further information in relation to Mr De Smedt or Mr Pentz is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
As at 28 July 2008, neither Mr De Smedt nor Mr Pentz had any beneficial interests in the share capital of the Company.
