                                Board Changes


Victrex plc announces that Paul Syms, Commercial Director, has given one
year's notice that he intends to resign from the Company with effect from 31
October 2002.


For the last 12 years and as Commercial Director since 1993, Paul has played a
key role in the successful development of Victrex, but he has now decided to
seek fresh opportunities overseas.  The Company is most grateful for Paul's
contribution.


The Board has initiated the process to appoint a new Commercial Director and
intends to make the appointment during the current financial year to ensure a
smooth transition.  Paul will remain as Commercial Director until his
successor is appointed.
