Trading Update

Victrex plc has decided to issue an annual trading update immediately
following each year end.  Consequently, the Company announces a trading update
for the year ended 30 September 2000.

On 12 June 2000 the Company announced record sales volume for the first half
of 628 tonnes (1999: 560 tonnes).  Sales growth in the second half has
exceeded expectations with volume of more than 680 tonnes achieved (1999: 507
tonnes).

The preliminary announcement of the Company's results for the year ended 30
September 2000 will be made on Tuesday 5 December 2000.
