Interim Trading Update
The Company announces its trading update for the six months ended 31 March 2006.
First half sales volume amounted to approximately 1,110 tonnes, some 12 % ahead
of the second half of last year (984 tonnes) and the previous first half of 988
tonnes.
•European sales saw renewed growth at 554 tonnes, 17 % up on the previous
second half (472 tonnes) and 11% up on last year's first half (497 tonnes).
•United States volume continued to grow with volume of 347 tonnes. This
was 6% up on last year's strong second half of 327 tonnes and 23% ahead of
the previous first half of 281 tonnes.
•At 209 tonnes, Asia-Pacific sales have regained momentum, up 13% on the
previous second half (185 tonnes) and in line with last year's record first
half volume of 210 tonnes.
•Invibio, the medical implant materials business, continued to show good
revenue growth in the first half, although, as expected, not at the
exceptionally high growth rates seen in 2005.
The announcement of the Company's results for the six months ended 31 March 2006
will be made on Tuesday, 6 June 2006.
