Victrex PLC 05 October 2006 Thursday 5 October 2006 Victrex plc ANNUAL TRADING UPDATE The Company announces its trading update for the year ended 30 September 2006. Sales volume for the year grew by 19% to approximately 2,338 tonnes (2005: 1,972 tonnes). Second half sales volume of around 1,225 tonnes increased by 10% compared with 1,113 tonnes for the first half. •Second half European sales volume increased by 15% to 639 tonnes compared with the first half (556 tonnes). Accordingly, full year sales volume of 1,195 tonnes was 23% up on last year (969 tonnes). •United States second half sales volume was 376 tonnes, up 8% on the strong first half (348 tonnes). As a result, full year sales volume of 724 tonnes was up 19% on the previous year (608 tonnes). •Second half Asia-Pacific sales volume of 210 tonnes matched the first half performance of 209 tonnes. Annual sales volume of 419 tonnes for the year was up 6% on 2005 (395 tonnes). •Invibio, our biomaterials business, continued to perform well with second half revenue in line with the first half performance of £7.6m. Overall, we expect profits for the year to be in line with analysts' expectations. Looking ahead to 2007, trading results will be impacted by the further strengthening of Sterling against our key trading currencies (Euro, Dollar and Yen) since our interim announcement in June. However, we remain confident in the underlying growth potential for the business.
