Vitec Group plc announces the acquisition by a subsidiary company of Sachtler
GmbH of the 50% of the joint venture company, Amic Sachtler Corporation, owned
by Amic Inc., a Japanese Corporation.  The consideration of Yen 116.242
million(approximately £676,000) was paid today in cash.

Amic Sachtler Corporation is responsible for sales of Sachtler products in
Japan.

Malcolm Baggott, commenting on the acquisition, said: 'the acquisition of this
minority interest will enable us to fully maximise our potential in Japan.'
