                        Appointment of Chief Executive

The Vitec Group plc announces the appointment of Gareth Rhys Williams as Chief
Executive and as a Director with immediate effect.

Mr Rhys Williams has considerable knowledge of international markets and
extensive marketing and consumer experience through his previous employment
with BPB plc, the international building systems group and Rexam plc, the
global consumer packaging group.

Mr Rhys Williams holds an MBA from Insead and a BSc in Engineering from Durham
University.
