APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND CHAIRMAN ELECT

The Vitec Group plc ("Vitec") the international provider of products and services for the broadcast, photographic, military, aerospace and government (MAG) markets is pleased to announce the appointment of John McDonough CBE to the Board of the Company as a non-executive director with effect from today.  It is intended that with effect from 1 June 2012, John will be appointed Chairman in succession to Michael Harper who will retire from the Board on that date.

John McDonough brings considerable commercial and listed company experience having been Group Chief Executive of Carillion plc from 2001 to 2011.  He has previously held non-executive directorships at Tomkins where he was also chairman of the Remuneration Committee from 2007 to 2010 and Exel from 2004 to 2005.  Prior to Carillion, John worked for Johnson Controls and Massey Ferguson in several senior executive management roles.

Commenting on the appointment, Michael Harper, Chairman of Vitec said:

 "I am delighted that John is joining Vitec and will succeed me as Chairman at this exciting stage in our growth.  He brings an excellent international commercial outlook, considerable City experience and a strong engineering background."

John McDonough said:
