NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTERESTS IN SHARES
In conformity with the Transparency Directive The Vitec Group plc ('Vitec') is required to announce to the market the receipt of notifications of major interests in shares.
Vitec received notice on 22 September 2008 in accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules that Aberforth Partners LLP ('Aberforth') has a notifiable interest in the voting rights of 2,110,969 ordinary shares of 20p each in Vitec, being 5% of the issued ordinary share capital of Vitec.
In addition, Aberforth is interested in a further 358,974 shares, although they do not have access to the voting rights of those shares.

Disclosure of Interest in the Voting Rights of Shares
Please find attached Form TR-l which discloses Aberforth Partners LLP's interest in 2,110,969 of the voting shares of Vitec Group (The) PLC as required under the Disclosure Rules and Transparency Rules Sourcebook of the FSA Handbook.
In addition, Aberforth Partners LLP is interested in a further 358,974 shares although we do not have access to the voting rights of these shares. Aberforth Partners LLP is, therefore, interested in a total of 2,469,943 shares of the above company. This interest arises as a result of the discretionary investment management powers that we can exercise over the funds of our clients. Aberforth Partners LLP is not the beneficial owner of these shares.
