Letter to The Vitec Group Plc

We are writing to notify you pursuant to the Disclosure of Interests in Shares
(Amendment) Regulations 1993 (SI 1993 No. 1819) of our interest in investment
holdings in the ordinary share capital of Vitec Group plc. Following the
purchase of 23,314 shares on July 25,2006, accounts managed by Harris Associates
L.P. became the beneficial owners of 4,130,421 shares of Vitec Group plc. This
represents 10.02% of the company and an increase above the 10% substantial
shareholder threshold.

Percentages are based on 41,232,379 outstanding shares. All holdings of Vitec 
Group are for investment purposes only.
