Change in ownership of the investment manager

Ho Chi Minh City - VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited ("VOF" or the "Company"), an AIM-quoted investment vehicle focused on Vietnam, announces that there has been change in ownership of VinaCapital Group Limited ("Group"), the parent company of VOF's investment manager, VinaCapital Investment Management Ltd. ("Investment Manager"). A consortium of existing shareholders led by Don Lam, Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sun Wah Group, and Katherine Yip, Chairwoman of KYG International, have acquired the shareholdings in the Group previously held by fellow cofounder, Horst Geicke and other parties.

The investment strategy and operations of the listed funds managed by the Investment Manager, including VOF, remain unchanged. The purchase consolidates the ownership of the Group and will enable senior managers to participate in the equity of the Group, but it will have no impact on day-to-day operations or strategic direction of the Group and VOF.

VinaCapital remains committed to its aim of sourcing and investing in sound opportunities in high-margin, high-growth areas in Vietnam, and intends to strengthen its market leading position in the region.
