COMPLETION OF ACQUISITION OF 25% OF SWISSCOM MOBILE
Vodafone Group Plc ('Vodafone') announces that closing of its acquisition of a
25% stake in Swisscom Mobile took place on 30 March 2001 as expected.
Vodafone has satisfied the first tranche of the consideration by the issue of
422,869,008 new Vodafone shares and the payment of CHF25 million in cash.
These shares have now been sold in the market at an average price of
approximately 198.75 pence per share. Swisscom Mobile has no economic or
other interest in these shares.
