VODAFONE AIRTOUCH ANNOUNCES FINANCING PLANS
Vodafone AirTouch Plc ('Vodafone AirTouch'), announces its
forthcoming debut dollar global bond issue. The issue will have
tranches of 5, 10 and 30 years. Vodafone AirTouch has appointed
Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Salomon Smith Barney to jointly lead manage
the transaction. Lehman Brothers and Bank of America International
Limited will be appointed as the co-lead managers. Investor
meetings will commence next week, starting in London.
Vodafone AirTouch's current senior unsecured debt rating is A2 by
Moody's and A (CreditWatch - negative) by Standard & Poors.
Proceeds will be used to reduce Vodafone AirTouch's existing bank
and commercial paper indebtedness.
