         NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR VODAFONE AIRTOUCH

Vodafone AirTouch Plc ('the Company') announces  that  Dr
Joseph  Ackermann,  Mr  Jurgen Schrempp  and  Dr  Henning
Schulte-Noelle  have  been  appointed  as   non-executive
Directors  of the Company with immediate effect.  It  has
been  agreed that Mr Canning Fok will not join the  Board
of the Company.

In addition, Dr Klaus Esser will join the Board as a non-
executive  deputy chairman on 5 June 2000, the date  upon
which  the Supervisory Board of Mannesmann has been asked
to  accept  his resignation as Chairman of the  Executive
Board  of  Mannesmann. It was originally agreed  that  Dr
Esser would initially join the Vodafone AirTouch Board in
an  executive capacity but in view of the recently agreed
sale of Atecs Mannesmann, Dr Esser has agreed to take  up
a non-executive position at the outset.
