VODAFONE ANNOUNCES MAJOR BENEFITS FOR ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS
'Bundle rollover', more free minutes and lower monthly costs
Vodafone today announces a series of major changes for digital account
customers. Customers will benefit from the introduction of bundle
rollover, the addition of up to 100 per cent more free minutes,
reductions in some calling rates and monthly line-rental charges.
These changes ensure that millions of Vodafone customers, particularly
medium and heavy users, will continue to reap the benefits of being
connected to the UK's most popular mobile phone network.
For the first time, Vodafone is introducing 'bundle rollover', giving
customers the ability to carry forward any unused portion of their
inclusive minutes for up to two months, the longest period offered by
any network. Customers whose use fluctuates from month to month will
gain the most value from this new service. Bundle rollover will
become effective on 1 November 1999 on all digital tariffs with
inclusive minutes, with the first rolled-over minutes useable in
December 1999.
The improvements to Vodafone's digital tariffs, which take effect on 1
September 1999, are the second major change announced so far this
year. They ensure that Vodafone contract customers continue to enjoy
the best deal possible whichever tariff they are on.
The changes, which are detailed in the table below, contain a
combination of three main elements: more bundled minutes, reduced call
rates and lower monthly line rental. Medium to heavy users on the
Vodafone network will receive increases in inclusive minutes each
month, varying from an extra 45 minutes on Vodafone 120 to an extra
2500 minutes (nearly 42 hours!) on Vodafone 7500. The most
significant price cut will be enjoyed by customers on Vodafone 120
(formerly Vodafone 75) who will see a reduction in the price of peak
calls from 28p/min to 25p/min as well as 60% more inclusive minutes.
Customers on Vodafone 3500 and Vodafone 7500 will benefit from monthly
line rental reductions of £11.50 and £39.38 respectively.

Vodafone will also now align its Group Saver Tariffs with the standard
tariffs, so that the 'bundled' minutes are the same for both, as shown
in the table below. This means that customers on Group Saver 60 and
Group Saver 120 will receive twice as many inclusive minutes as at
present. Vodafone's Group Saver range of tariffs enable customers to
connect additional handsets for £15 and benefit from cheap local calls
and calls to other Vodafone mobiles.

'The market is without doubt a very competitive one and this is the
second set of major tariff cuts Vodafone has made so far this year,'
commented Alan Harper, Managing Director of Vodafone Ltd. 'Not only
will all customers benefits from the introduction of 'bundle rollover'
minutes but also the tariff improvements will be of particular benefit
to both our new and existing business customers and medium to high
usage personal customers.'
