JOSEF ACKERMANN RESIGNS FROM VODAFONE BOARD
Vodafone Group Plc ('Vodafone') announces today that Dr Josef Ackermann has
resigned as a non-executive director of Vodafone. Dr Ackermann, who joined the
Vodafone Board in May 2000 shortly after the completion of Vodafone's
acquisition of Mannesmann AG, where he was Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory
Board, will be assuming considerable additional responsibilities following his
appointment as Spokesman of the Board of Managing Directors of Deutsche Bank AG
from May 2002 and, as a result, has reluctantly concluded that he will have
insufficient time to devote to his directorship of Vodafone.
Lord MacLaurin of Knebworth, Chairman of Vodafone, commented, 'I am very
grateful to Josef Ackermann for his service to the Board; we shall miss his
contribution and counsel. We wish him well with his new role at Deutsche Bank.'
