CLOSE PERIOD SHARE PURCHASES
Vodafone Group Plc ('Vodafone') announces today that on 23 September 2005 it
instructed Law Debenture Corporate Services Limited to deliver irrevocable
instructions to a number of banks to purchase shares on its behalf during the
period relating to the publication of its interim results for the six months
ended 30 September 2005 which starts on 1 October 2005 and ends on the day that
the interim results are announced which is expected to be on 15 November 2005
(the 'Close Period'). The purchase of shares in the Close Period pursuant to
the irrevocable instructions will be effected in accordance with the authority
granted to Vodafone at its Annual General Meeting on 26 July 2005.
