Application has been made to the Financial Services Authority and the London
Stock Exchange plc for 5,000 Ordinary shares of 25p each ('shares') to be
admitted to the Official List.

Admission is expected to be granted today, 7 April 2004 and it is expected that
trading will commence on 8 April 2004.

These shares are being issued as a result of the exercise of share under the
Volex 2001 Share Option Scheme and will rank pari passu with the existing issued
ordinary shares.
