Volex  Group  p.l.c.,  ('Volex') the world's leading  independent
producer  of  electronic cable assemblies  and  electrical  power
cords, announces the following changes to its Board.

Mr.  Dominick Molloy, currently Group Managing Director and Chief
Executive, will take over as non-executive Chairman of the  Board
following  the retirement of Mr. Bill Goodall, aged 70,  as  non-
executive   Chairman  at the conclusion of the  Company's  Annual
General  Meeting to be held late July.  Mr. Goodall  has  been  a
director of Volex for 14 years and non-executive Chairman for the
last 10 years.  He will resign as a Director later this year.

Mr. Molloy's successor as Volex Group Managing Director and Chief
Executive  will  be Mr. John Corcoran, who joins the  Board  with
immediate  effect and is appointed Chief Executive Designate:  he
will  become  Volex Group Managing Director and  Chief  Executive
when Mr Molloy, a Director of Volex for the past 6 years, becomes
non-executive Chairman.

Mr.  Corcoran, aged 40, has been with the Volex Group for 2 years
as  Managing  Director of its subsidiary, Volex (Europe)  Limited
('Volex Europe').  He brings with him considerable experience  of
the infocom industry having previously held a number of positions
within  the European operations of Cabletron Systems and  Nortel,
latterly as the General Manager of Nortel in Galway, Ireland.

Mr. Corcoran's successor as Managing Director of Volex Europe  is
Mr. Steve Cowman who has many years of management experience both
in  Europe  and North America, including positions  with  General
Electric Corporation and Harris Corporation.

Bill  Goodall, Chairman, commented 'These changes are part  of  a
carefully  thought through Board long term succession plan  which
will  ensure continuity of the strong leadership of the Group  at
Board  level.   I  am particularly pleased that  Dom  Molloy  has
agreed  to  be  my successor.  This will ensure that  Volex  will
benefit from his great experience in the infocom industry'.
